When
looking for a new home for your family or business, there
are several key items to consider. Of course, location is
the top priority, but community charm, access to main travel
arteries, and various amenities are all important factors.
Many people are just beginning to discover the many joys
that Kyle has to offer.
The
quaint, quickly growing community of Kyle is vibrant with
development that will last for years to come. The City of
Kyle is almost exactly divided in half by Interstate 35
just 20 miles south of Austin. The Union Pacific Rail line
runs parallel to I-35 through Kyle as well, making Kyle
an ideal location for manufacturing and industrial businesses.
State Highway 21, FM 1626, and Highway 150 all run through
Kyle at one point or another. Access to surrounding cities
is convenient and stress free for Kyle residents, employees,
and business owners alike. Kyle is situated between six
of the top ten tourist attractions in Texas, including one
of the largest outlet malls in San Marcos, just 10 miles
south on I-35.

A new HEB Plus opened up this year, one of the largest in
the state, with a retail center to complement the new grocery
store at the intersection of FM 1626 and Interstate 35.
This area, along with each of the three main interstate
exits for Kyle will prove to be high activity locations
with an array of retail to choose from. Clearly, an abundance
of retail owners are considering Kyle as their new home
over the coming months. This, along with many other manufacturing
and technological companies, has opened a large number of
jobs in the area.
Hays
Consolidated Independent School District is a great public
school system that reaches past the state standards. The district
is on schedule to open one new elementary school each year
for the next several years, and in the 2008 bond, the district
will make plans for a new high school. Beyond
the exceptional school district, the multi-generation communities
provide affordable housing to accommodate many price points
and lifestyles. Kyle is home to more than twenty beautifully
developed subdivisions that offer green space for pocket
and community parks, pools, health programs, golf, disc
golf, volleyball, and more.
Additionally,
the City of Kyle has made significant investments in the
community to encourage positive business growth and set
the standard for excellence throughout the community. The
most obvious investment can be seen when entering downtown
Kyle on Center Street from Exit 150, the new City Hall and
streetscape project. The City made the decision to develop
a new City Hall in downtown Kyle rather than moving to a
larger piece of land farther away from the history and Old
City Hall. The City has invested in a downtown streetscape
project to improve the streets, sidewalks, and landscape
that will positively impact all the businesses in the downtown
area. Furthermore, the Economic Development Committee implemented
a Downtown Revitalization Grant to match exterior improvement
funds for the downtown business owners, offering a clear
incentive for retailers and commercial operators alike to
relocate to the historic town center of Kyle.
Above
all, Kyle residents are warm and friendly! This is the type
of town residents and guests can walk safely down the street
to the local sandwich shop and meet more than a few friendly
smiles along the way. Clearly, Kyle provides an appealing
package for those that are looking for a new home.
